Tasks: Besides filming Niki is also responsible for editing and the creative direction of FRAMED
Whats the idea behind FRAMED?
Niki I just want to get a sick video together and have as many people as possible watch it. There is so much potential around me. Skaters and also talented filmers and graphic guys. This could really be a good thing and it's running brilliant so far.
Do you think money is important to produce a good video nowadays?
N It depends. I'd say good camera equipment is important. Money also helps to make filming trips. Other than that you don't necessarily need money. Connections to good skaters and motivated, creative people is more important.
Whats your favorite clip on youtube?
N Make sure you turn up your volume before this, seriously!

Whats some of your favorite recent videos from a filming and editing point of view?
N FF, Inhabitants, Static 3, the obvious suspects I'd say. I am also inspired by just lil' clips on the internet though. I really like that Mind Field trailer for example.
When and where is the final video going to come out?
N I want to wait until all the riders are satisfied with their parts. Fall '08 was a first deadline but it already looks like that's going to be pushed back. It's also unclear how the video will be released. I'd like to have it included in a magazine so it's free and people can get it easily. We'll have to see how the sponsorship works out though since you need quite a budget for that. If everything works out fine than FRAMED will be out for free in one of Europe's main magazines.
Tasks: Filming and Photography
Why does everyone call you the Chef?
Chef Because I cook some marvelous food...
Since you are Italian, tell us some things you like/ dislike about Austria and Italy.
C The food in Italy...so good. I also miss the sea when I'm in Austria. Therefore you have the mountains here. In the end it's all good.
Who do you think will be the european champion this year?
C Spain or England.
(Laughs) England is not even in man.
C Really? Why?
I guess they just didn't make the qualifications.
C O.K. Spain then.
Did you start with filming or taking photos?
C I started out with filming and then someday I got a shitty digital (photo) camera. From there on I was really into taking pictures and bought a nice analog cam.
What do you think where analog photography will be 10 years from now?
C I don't know. Maybe it will be gone? It's getting too expensive to shoot analog. Also the magazines prefer digital photos since it's easier for them. I prefer analog though. I remember the days where the skater had to pay for the film and development and not the photographer (laughs).
